  • Research focus: pro-environmental behavior, sustainability management, and applied ESG implementation. 

Introduction

The Sustainable Globe Research Lab is led by a researcher trained at the University of Waterloo, with academic expertise in sustainability management and environmental behavior. The lab focuses on:

  • Applying theories to assess current sustainability practices and emerging trends in hospitality.

  • Evaluating how industry and academia integrate sustainability into operations, training, and decision-making.

  • Generating annual reports that measure and track the sustainability performance of Canada’s hospitality industry.

Research Streams 

  1. Pro-Environmental Behaviour (PEB)
    Understanding how motivation, ability, and organizational context shape environmental actions in workplaces.

  2. Environmental Management Practices (EMP) & ESG
    Examining how management practices translate into measurable sustainability outcomes.

  3. Applied Behavioural Models for Sustainability
    Developing and testing behavioural frameworks (e.g., motivation–ability mechanisms) in hospitality and SMEs.

  4. Sustainability Measurement & Indices
    Designing ESG and sustainability performance indicators for practical implementation.
